Why did Boodles join the Responsible Jewelry Council, and how has the membership shaped your approach to responsible practices?

As a seventh-generation family-owned business, we have always prioritized strong relationships with our suppliers, working only with those who share our ethical values, many of whom we have known for decades.

In 2018, Boodles was assessed alongside global brands by Human Rights Watch. This assessment was a wake-up call, showing us the value of external audits and the need to take formal responsibility for our sourcing and wider practices.

It was a formative moment that encouraged us to take greater ownership and accountability. A key milestone on that journey was becoming certified by the Responsible Jewelry Council. The process helped us strengthen our internal systems and continues to guide us in becoming more aware of our operations. We are making consistent progress using the RJC framework to operate more responsibly and in turn, support others in the supply chain to move towards more ethical and sustainable practices…..
