Translating Trends: From the runways, red carpets and fashion markets to your store and showcases

The Plumb Club held this informative and timely webinar with an outstanding cast of speakers. These experts shared insights on the latest trends of the fashion runways, major red carpets and market at large, and how they translate into bestselling products and marketing strategies to capture style conscious consumers.

 Speakers:

amanda gizziAmanda Gizzi is Director of Public Relations & Special Events for Jewelers of America (JA), a nonprofit trade association serving the fine jewelry retail industry. JA’s consumer education arm, Jewelry Information Center (JIC), is a unique resource for trend forecasting, industry information, statistics, gift giving ideas, information on the latest up-and-coming designers, jewelry history and savvy jewelry and watch shopping tips. As a nationally recognized industry spokesperson, Gizzi appears regularly on television news, is quoted in magazines, and is an authority on fine jewelry and watch trends. She recently received the Women’s Jewelry Association’s Award for Excellence in Marketing/Communications.

 

Michael O'ConnorMichael O’Connor has spent three decades working in the design, marketing and promotion of the jewelry and fashion industries. As a designer, he worked for top brands like Gucci and Cartier and helped with the design concepts for the DeBeers “Past, Present, Future” campaign. As a marketer, O’Connor developed strategies for such powerhouses as Platinum Guild International, Frederick Goldman, Tache, and JCK and Luxury. As a style expert, he has appeared on TV entertainment news; hosted his own show, MovieStyle with Michael O’Connor on Reelz Channel; covered the red carpet for TV Guide Channel; and was QVC’s Style Editor for 14 years. O’Connor helps style celebrities for red-carpet appearances and premiers. He also is a columnist for Engagement 101 and InDesign magazines. His company, Style & Substance provides marketing and public relations strategies for designers, manufacturers and retailers.

 

Helena Krodel Helena Krodel, is deemed the “total package” by her teammates at Luxe Intelligence, a brand development agency in New York City. She has promoted and marketed fine jewelry, watches, fashion accessories and beauty products for more than 15 years. Most recently, Krodel served as Director of Studio PR, a boutique fine jewelry and fashion public relations agency in New York City. For nearly a decade, she was the dynamic spokesperson for the Jewelry Information Center, consumer education arm of Jewelers of America, serving as Director of Media and Special Events. Krodel has built a reputation for spot-on forecasting. She is often quoted in the press, pens articles for leading jewelry trade magazines, and teaches seminars nationwide, including classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology. In 2011, she received the Women’s Jewelry Association’s Award for Excellence in Media.
