Maximizing Your Online Assets: Reaching the Connected Consumer

The Plumb Club held an exciting webinar that acquainted attendees with today’s connected consumers and the many ways to leverage the online experience and opportunities to reach this diverse group, while at the same time driving sales to their business. Online marketing experts Cheryl Kremkow, Daniel Gordon and Jacques Voorhees shared key consumer data and insights on effective online strategies to stay connected to consumers, including website development; social media use (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest); email, text messaging and apps; and networking with brands via emerging B2B2C models.

Cheryl-Kremkow-headshotCheryl Kremkow has more than 25 years experience telling compelling jewelry stories to consumers, retailers and manufacturers in a variety of media. She was editor-in-chief of Modern Jeweler, Lustre, and Jewellery News Asia magazines. She has been the vice-president of content for three jewelry e-commerce start-ups and was the Gembureau director for the International Colored Gemstone Association. Her marketing and brand development firm Citrine Media helps brands use emerging technologies to have authentic consumer conversations.

 

DanGordonHeadshot adjDaniel Gordon is a fourth generation jeweler, born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He recently ventured out of the family business, Samuel Gordon Jewelers, after nearly 18 years and has joined the Diamond Cellar in Columbus Ohio. During his career, he has made many significant changes to the family business, such as changing its entire business model and corporate culture; product mixes and buying techniques; personnel; and vision for the firm’s marketing strategies including the implementation of creative usage of social media. Gordon has created more than 20 different corporate presences on the Internet, from Facebook, Twitter and Youtube to a highly viewed personal blog, all of which have been recognized as cutting edge by every major jewelry trade magazine in the industry. His dedication and passion for his business has landed him on BNET, American Express Open Forum, Mashable, and MSN.COM. Gordon currently serves on the executive board of Gen-Next Jewelers, and speaks frequently at trade conferences and symposiums nationwide.

He was the founder of Polygon, the diamond market’s first online B2B marketplace where millions of dollars a day in diamond trading occur; the inventor of SiteInfusion™, a patent-pending technology by which jewelry brands push content into retail store websites; and the creator of TradeLock™, a password protection technology for jewelry industry sites. After selling Polygon to a public company in Canada, Voorhees is today CEO of VeriChannel, LLC, his latest venture that builds and operates jewelry industry search engines, with a client list including the American Gem Society, Kay and Jared’s retail stores, and De Beers’ Forevermark® diamond brand. Based in Keystone, Colorado, Voorhees was named by JCK Magazine as one of the jewelry trade’s “Most Influential People” of the 20th century, and has been profiled twice in Forbes magazine.
